Clutch Friction Plate, Triumphs Twins to 1983 ,BSA A50/A65

This is  one new bonded clutch friction plate to fit ALL pre-unit and unit Triumph twin-cylinder models up to 1983 and also the BSA A50/A65 models and any BSA that has been converted to the Triumph-type 3 and 4 spring clutch.

The quantities of plates varied however, and were fitted as follows:

TRIUMPH MODELS

Pre-unit models, 500 & 650   = 5 friction plates & 6 plain plates

Unit 650 & 750 models 1963-83 = 6 friction plates & 6 plain plates

T21 (3TA)  1957-58                = 4 friction plates & 4 plain plates

3TA 1959-63                            = 4 friction plates & 5 plain plates

5TA 1959-62                            = 4 friction plates & 5 plain plates

5TA 1963 only                          = 5 friction plates & 6 plain plates

T90,T100A & SS  1960-63      = 5 friction plates & 6 plain plates

3TA 1964-1966                        = 5 friction plates & 5 plain plates

T90, 5TA all T100 models 1964-1966 = 6 friction plates & 6 plain plates

T100 all 1967-68                      = 5 friction plates & 5 plain plates ( can fit 6 + 6)

T100 all 1969-73                      = 6 friction plates & 6 plain plates

Please note: over the years many machines have had more plates fitted than original and all the above will run with 6 friction and 6 plain if the right springs are fitted and correct pushrod adjustment etc. Rule of thumb is check what you have fitted and if it has been working ok replace with the same amount!
